Abstract

The number of the workforce in August 2024 was 991.6 thousand people, an increase of 49.9 thousand people compared to August 2023. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) increased by 2.55 percentage points from 63.88 percent to 66.43 percent.

The working population was 929.6 thousand people, an increase of 48.8 thousand people from August 2023. The employment sector that experienced the largest increase was the Service Sector (36.8 thousand people). Meanwhile, the employment sector that experienced a decrease was the Agriculture Sector (243 people).

A total of 263.2 thousand people (28.3 percent) worked in formal activities, a decrease of 5.7 thousand people compared to August 2023.

The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2024 was 6.25 percent, a decrease of 0.21 percentage points compared to August 2023 which was 6.46 percent.
